Therefore, after reading a few things, I've incorporated a new bit to our day, which is messy play. I've only done it for a couple of days now but fingers crossed, it will be a new outlet for his mess making! I'm putting in 30 minutes every other afternoon so that he can be cleaned up in the bath as usual - we used to do this more often but since he started school, it's simply not possible. However, if we have time (home day) or he's in a mood where he's obviously looking for some sensory stimulation then we'll do something else too.
I have made up a PDF to share with flashcards (photos included for visual cues) to help your child choose which messy play activities to do, and it also gives you information of what you will need, what to do and how to get messy with it!
