Just starting out with PECS and looking for additional support and guidance?
Great idea. As with everything in life, talking plans through with someone who has been there and done it before is a really good idea. Should you wish to start alone then we recommend connecting with other parents who have successfully integrated picture exchange into their homes and lives. You can do this by searching out Facebook groups or joining a local special needs group. Even better would be discussing with your child's speech and language therapist, teacher or similar.
In the meantime, we feel these websites are some of the best at explaining the initial concepts (such as the six phases of PECS) and alternative communication. We have all the resources you need to give PECs a try, completely free of charge. Heck, we even have a how-to on creating your a communication book that meets your child (and your) needs.
